John Whybrow is the Chairman of Wolseley.
Mr. Whybrow's career started at the English Electric Company in 1968. He originally joined Philips in 1970, rising to become Managing Director of the Philips Power Semiconductors and Microwave business in 1987.
In 1993 he was appointed Chairman and Managing Director of Philips Electronics UK. He was then made President and CEO of Philips Lighting Holding in Holland.
From May 1998 until April 2002 he held the post of Executive Vice President of Royal Philips Electronics, where he also took Board responsibility for leading Quality and e-Business initiatives within the company.
Mr. Whybrow first joined Wolseley as a Non-executive Director in 1997 and is now its Chairman. He has also held Directorship of the consumer electronics retailer Dixons since 2003.
